As part of my master dissertation, this section presents a comprehensive analysis of the road traffic data utilizing an intuitive and informative dashboard. The dashboard has six distinct pages, each offering valuable insights into various aspects of road traffic behaviour in Bristol.
By exploring these pages, a deeper understanding of traffic volume distribution, hourly traffic patterns, comparisons between weekdays and weekends, year-on-year traffic trends, and differences in average speeds is gained. The dashboard split into 2 sections, the first one is about the total quantity of vehicles, and the second one is about the average speed in miles per hour.
Total Volume Analysis
This section delves into a comprehensive examination of the total volume of vehicular traffic (number of vehicles) recorded by the traffic sensors in Bristol. The analysis unfolds across four distinct size dimensions, each offering unique insights into vehicle distributions, traffic patterns, and comparative evaluations.
Average Speed Analysis
This section delves into the analysis of average vehicle speeds observed within the dataset. The evaluation of average speeds is instrumental in understanding traffic conditions and identifying potential trends or variations, the metric for the speed in this project is miles per hour (mph). Two essential facets of this analysis are explored across two separate pages: a comparison between the years 2022 and 2023 and an examination of how average speeds differ between weekdays, weekends, and holidays. These investigations aim to provide valuable insights into the dynamics of traffic speed and its variations over time, enhancing the overall comprehension of road traffic behavior in Bristol.
Giving the size of the dashboard, please feel free to scroll down at the end of the dashboard in the left size you can choose the full preview window size to see the full lenght size of the dashboard.
